I challenge you ...

ELYSE KNOWLES WATER AID CHALLENGE 20182.jpg

Do you think you could resist coffee, green smoothies, wine, chai & tea for the whole month of March??!?! What if I told you that is was for an amazing cause? Listen to this and you might change your mind … 1 in 9 people around the world go without access to clean water every single day. That means no turning on the tap to refill your water bottle, no jumping in the shower to get clean … no washing your hands after a long, hard day at work. Can you imagine? I can’t.

This is a reality for too many people around the world (including infants & children), so it’s time to make a change.

I am so proud to be an ambassador for WaterAid and as part of their family I am undertaking the WaterAid Water Challenge for the WHOLE of March. Nothing but water when it comes to beverages!

You can absolutely get involved too by doing the same; simply give up all beverages apart from water for one month. That’s all it takes! All you have to do is head to www.waterchallenge.org.au to sign up and all of the information you need to learn more about the challenge is there.

To help convince you to join me in the challenge – consider this. By drinking only water for a whole month, you’ll be treating your entire body to an array of amazing health benefits. Drinking water can help relieve fatigue, improve your mood, help get rid of headaches, assist with digestion, flush out toxins, help with your physical performance and brain function… AND your skin will be beautifully hydrated. My skin in particular is going to love me for it! More than that, my heart will be happy knowing I am helping someone truly in need.

Money raised from WaterAid’s Water Challenge will go towards sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene projects for our near neighbours in Timor-Leste, Papua New Guinea and Cambodia.

I visited Timor-Leste last year (see some pics below from the trip) to see how access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene changes lives. It blew my socks off. Visiting villages in Timor-Leste, I was able to see first hand how clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene brings so much happiness and joy to communities. It improves people’s health and prosperity tenfold.

To know that 844 million people are living without clean water and 1 in 3 people live without a decent toilet seems unacceptable to me. I feel that many of us can get so stressed about the small things in our everyday lives, when there are people in the world that are in desperate need of basic essentials that we need to support.

Living in beautiful Australia it’s all too easy to forget that millions of people around the globe go without the everyday necessities we take for granted. Drinking water, flushing loos & running showers should be available for every single human on this planet. It’s as simple as that.

So c’mon troops! Click the link here and join me make a meaningful difference!
