As her Seafolly contract comes to an end, Elyse Knowles has reflected on what the renowned swimwear brand has done to elevate her career.
A hardworking model before her stint on renovation juggernaut The Block with boyfriend Josh Barker, Knowles’s profile was boosted exponentially following their win, as she picked up lucrative gigs with Myer, Seafolly and Aveda.
“I think it (Seafolly) has put me on another level,” Knowles told Sunday Confidential.
“It has made my brand even bigger and better than it was.
“Seafolly is such an iconic Australian swimwear brand that is recognised globally, so it is so nice to have my name recognised alongside these other faces of Seafolly.”
The extra publicity has meant the Myer model now gets recognised in the street.
“It feels weird,” she said.
“It is definitely a bit different these days. But I love people coming up and saying hello.
“They all have different messages but a lot of people say thank you for being real and authentic and a good role model. But Josh actually gets recognised more than I do. He gets freaked out. He needs to cut his hair, but that will never happen.”
Knowles spent yesterday at Bondi Surf Bathers Life Savng Club as Seafolly launched its Beach Club loyalty program.
“Summer is my absolute favourite time of the year, not only because I get to walk around and be in swimwear for a whole two months, but I can hit the beach, go to the river,” Knowles said. .
“You are free, you feel stronger, more confident and brown.”
