Elyse Knowles has announced she will no longer be the face of Myer after having represented the brand for five years.
The former Melbourne-based model, who is now lives in Byron Bay with her fiance Josh Barker and their 10-month-old son Sunny, revealed in an Instagram post on Wednesday “it’s time to follow a different path”.
“What a blast the last five years had been, becoming an ambassador for the iconic @myer was always a goal of mine since being a little girl,” she told her almost 1 million followers.
“But it’s time for me to say goodbye. It’s time for me to follow a different path that’s calling my name.”
She said despite choosing to step away from her “treasured” friends and “amazing colleagues” at Myer, she is left with lasting memories and love for the brand.
“Thank you for having me on board @myer, it’s been an incredible adventure.”
Elyse’ first shot to fame in 2017, when she and Josh won the popular home reno show The Block.
Since then, the 29-year-old has gone on to represent a variety of reputable brands including Seafolly, Calvin Klein and WaterAid as its ambassador. In 2019, both Elyse and Josh then swapped the hustle and bustle of Melbourne for the laid-back lifestyle of Byron Bay where they have been investing in real estate and run a construction company called J&E Projects.
Elyse told the Herald Sun her decision to step away from Myer came down to the love of her family.
“I have so many fun and special memories and have absolutely loved working with the team, but I’ve decided it is time for a change and for me to focus on my little family and some other exciting projects I have in the works,” she said.
Myer told the publication in a statement that Elyse had been a “wonderful ambassador” and had been “an absolute joy” to work with.
“We are sad to see her move on but she has our full support and we wish her all the very best for this next chapter in her life, and the most important role of being a mum,” a Myer spokesperson said.
