Inside Out Beauty
Women always seem to have a constant goal in action regarding their body. To get into better shape, to lose a few kgs, to tone up, to detox, to give up this or that for weeks at a time, to stick to a cleaner diet during the working week... the list goes on and on! Don't you reckon?
We're all guilty of putting these goals into action at some point, of course we are! It's only human to want to be healthier. I've been meaning to update my underwear digitals for a while now. I kept putting it off because A) it's been absolutely freezing in Melbourne and, B) I wanted to wait until I was in absolute perfect, tip top shape. Ugh! The word perfect always seems to be the culprit when it comes to self-doubt. I know that I work very hard to keep my body in shape but just like everybody else, there are parts of my body that really do take a lot of work & discipline to keep toned.
After chipping away in the gym & preparing for my new digitals, one day last week I was out walking the dogs with Josh. We were at the beach, totally relaxed and completely happy. Suddenly it hit me. My rational head kicked into gear and reminded me that THIS is me in "tip top shape". Right in this moment where I feel content in my head & in my heart. Time for those digitals!
"I feel beautiful when I'm at peace with myself. When I'm serene, when I'm a good person, when I've been considerate of others." I love this little quote from Elle Macpherson.
It's a reminder that true beauty stems from the inside.
If we become too fixated on what we want to become in the future, we might lose focus on who we are in the moment and who we are naturally.
I think that it's great to want to improve our health and wellness - absolutely! Just as long as we never change our personalities in the process. Life is too short to feel anything but confident in your own skin and completely at ease in your own life!
Next time you feel a little off, do something you enjoy with someone you love.
