IWD with Marie Claire
It gave me such great pleasure to join a panel of phenomenal women alongside Marie Claire last week at the Vamff International Women's Day Breakfast & talk about what's close to my heart - Australia, the importance of contributing to the regeneration of our land & communities after the devastating bushfires & of course sustainable living. It was also insanely inspiring to hear my fellow panelists speak about subjects that ignite fire in their bellies and motivate them to do more with their voice & their everyday.
Yesterday was of course International Women's Day & I certainly felt a strong sense of pride waking up & knowing what incredible peers I have in this industry. Peers who are pushing for change & celebrating a woman's freedom to make a stance, create a movement & become a leader. It was another reminder to me that women are strong. We are empathetic. We are resourceful, we are intelligent - and we are movers & shakers!
Marie Claire have supported my efforts to drive awareness & change since the start of the year when they gave me the special privilege of being the cover girl for an issue of their magazine that woke Australia up to the extent of the bushfire damage & highlighted all of the heroic women who have spent their days going out and giving back. I want to sincerely thank the team at Marie Claire for sharing their platform with me so that I can continue to spread important messages about our wonderful home, Australia.
Tomorrow and everyday after that - I urge you to wake up & make it your daily goal to make someone's day just a little bit better. Wake up feeling so grateful to live in such a beautiful country. Wake up saying I will, instead of I might. Be the change you wish for. Be the woman you'd want to befriend. Be the Aussie citizen you wish we all were. If nothing else, always be you & always be kind.
