MAKING THE VITAL CHANGE
I've been traveling around Australia for the past few months - visiting my favourite beaches and rivers, as well as a collection of beautiful Australian towns that have been tragically affected by the recent fires & floods. Not only have these locals lost their land & homes, many of their businesses have endured huge drops in income because of the falling numbers in tourists & traveling families passing through. It was pretty gut wrenching for Josh & I to see.
When I returned home to Byron a week or so ago, I took part in a huge beach clean up for the day (if you are looking to create a community event this year, a beach clean up is an epic idea!!). The amount of plastic we collected ... bottles, coffee cups, fishing wires, straws, cans, food packaging & a bunch of other yukky waste - made me pretty annoyed to be honest. I mean it's great that we removed it all from the beach, but after ALL that we have copped as a country, people are STILL treating nature & our beaches like their personal trash can. It makes NO sense to me?! It's cruel, silly, plain old lazy & completely detrimental to our country.
From the bottom of my heart - please dispose of your waste correctly. Find a bin and stick your trash in it. Easy! If it means taking your rubbish home and sorting it into the bins there, then please do it! A very small effort is required to create a hugely positive outcome! If for no other reason, please do it for those who have suffered so tragically recently.

Recycled plastics takes the old & recreates the new! rPET (the name of the regenerated plastics), is such a brilliant innovation and something all businesses should be looking into. There is no time like now to make an active change in your business to lead a more sustainable & eco friendly operation. If you don't act soon - you'll be left behind as consumers these days are pretty savvy! So even if you know someone with a business in plastic - please pass on the memo.
Vital are incredibly focused on lowering their carbon footprint & making better choices for the sake of our world ... the world that we'll be passing onto our kids & grandkids. Quick note/reminder - when you buy your Vital Greens & proteins in the new packaging, avoid chucking them out when they're empty. Keep them for storage in the pantry! Fill them with nuts, seeds, snacks...whatever you have as anything goes.
So in a time when our country is suffering so badly - there are ways we can ALL help. Vital is doing their part, please follow suit & find a way you can also contribute. As I've been saying lately - be kind to each other, and be kind to our world. Please continue to think twice before making your purchases ... buy from those with a green heart & a clean conscious!
