If there’s one thing that Elyse Knowles loves, it’s nature and what better place to soak it all up then in her new humble abode, Byron Bay.
The 26-year-old model and her 30-year-old builder beau Josh Barker swapped the hustle and bustle of Melbourne for the laid-back lifestyle of the popular tourist town earlier this month.
And the former The Block contestants have wasted no time taking advantage of its green surroundings and coastal beauty.
On Tuesday, they were spotted at the beach, with their two dogs, Isla and Harlow where Elyse was seen helping their adorable pooches out of the boot of their car after arriving at the idyllic spot.
Elyse was wearing a khaki green playsuit over her swimsuit, a floppy sunhat and a straw bag with her initials embossed in green.
She was later seen walking along the sand with Josh, who wore a pair of olive green boardshorts and a grey T-shirt.
After the couple found a spot to chill, Elyse showed off her incredibly toned figure, having opted for a black string bikini under her playsuit.
The Myer and WaterAid ambassador was then seen having a play around with the dogs before keeping herself hydrated with a metal drink bottle, which she also used to pour water into a bowl for Isla and Harlow.
In her blog last May, the model said her trick to keeping fit and ensure she attends her training sessions was to book any fitness classes before she goes to bed at night.
Elyse is a also big believer in empowering young girls and women and worries that they feel pressured to emulate what’s on social media.
“If I can portray to those girls growing up that everyone’s different, that you don’t need to compare yourself to people on Instagram, I might motivate them to say, ‘let’s go to the gym because I want to feel empowered’, rather than because they want to look like someone else.”
Both her and Josh’s lifestyle change is something the pair have been waiting for — with Elyse having revealed earlier this month that it had always been a dream of theirs to move to the trendy New South Wales coastal town.
“The new adventure has begun! We have packed up our lives and we are moving to Byron Bay!! I can’t believe it’s happening and it’s real now! So excited for our new adventure with my man @joshy.barker,” Elyse posted on March 4.
Josh was shared his excitement, saying “Today is the start of our 12 month working holiday in Byron Bay, so if your (sic) from the bay and need a builder send me an email,” he wrote on the same day.
He added: “Absolutely stoked for our little adventure together @elyse.knowles.”
The pair have also explored the town’s fresh organic food offering with Elyse posting a snap with her carrier bags full of goodies.
She’s also loving getting around town with just a bicycle saying, “the only form of transport needed”.
Who knows, she may bump into actor Matt Damon who is regularly spotted hanging around the town and perusing the aisles of his local Kmart in Ballina.
Elyse and Josh join a slew of Aussie celebs who have invested in the popular coastal town, including Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, Melbourne-based The Project panellist and radio personality Carrie Bickmore and footballer Tim Cahill.
